About Us

The 21st century is full of fundamental challenges, but also ripe with opportunity. Entrepreneurship in engineering lies at the core of the transformation needed to build an inspiring future for mankind.

Through our work, as partners in life and business, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to improving the physical world we all inhabit. We are at the forefront of the field of Computational Engineering, where we use computer code and Artificial Intelligence to design the world’s most sophisticated machines.

As global citizens, we are acutely aware of the growing division between cultures, regions, and opinions. Instead of emphasizing differences, we need to focus on our shared humanity. We keep an open mind and we engage with friends, partners, companies, and government all over the world. We hope to be able to bridge some of the chasms that are opening everywhere.

We are both fascinated by space exploration. Lin’s uncle was an early pioneer in the field of commercial rocket launchers. It is our conviction that technologies developed for a spacefaring society can form the foundation of a sustainable future for all of us.

Engineering is the key instrument to solve humanity’s grand challenges. As the architect of the Paris Agreement, Christiana Figueres said, nothing else moves fast enough, to address issues like Climate Change.

At a time when many men and women escape into virtual worlds, we are calling to action to help shape the physical environment we all live in.

We create companies, we invent and build machines, we contribute to the discussion through our articles, and we speak in front of audiences, hoping that others will join us on this path.

Josefine

Josefine Lissner is an early pioneer in the field of Computational Engineering. Some of her work has been hailed as a historic milestone in physical designs and 3D-printing.

Josefine uses computer code to build the world’s most astonishing and complex physical objects. She is the founder of LEAP 71, a company working on designing and producing the next generation of computer-generated machines.

Before starting her current venture in 2023, she was the Strategic Engineering Lead at Hyperganic, helping push and build the company’s technology and credibility through a number of industry-first projects. She has a Masters Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. During her studies, she built a record-breaking drone at Infineon and participated in an Astronaut Training at ESA.

From 2017 to 2018, as part of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, she contributed to the aerodynamic design of Lewis Hamilton’s championship-winning car. In 2018 she went on to join the newly founded Formula E Team at Porsche Motorsports.

Josefine is an avid runner, winning the 110 km Hadrian’s Wall Ultramarathon across the UK in 2018.

When she speaks at conferences about breakthrough technologies, she also focuses on the role of women in engineering. She is mentor to several aspiring women in tech.

When she is not in the flow of coding, she is out in nature, enjoying coffee-conversations with Lin, or exploring another destination around the globe while always looking for a good vegan restaurant.

Lin

Lin Kayser is a serial entrepreneur with 30 years of experience in building high technology ventures.

In 1994 he joined ARADEX, then a young startup. ARADEX was the first company to use off-the-shelf PC technology to drive large industrial machines. Lin’s team created the first real time control kernel for the Windows operating system, and pioneered the use of touch screens and interactive user interfaces in that field.

In 2000, he started IRIDAS, a company that built the first video processing technology for the emerging digital movie industry in Hollywood. IRIDAS powered the first digital cinema in the world for the creation of The Matrix movies in 2002. A year later, it pioneered the use of the GPU for high speed image processing, long before it became mainstream. IRIDAS was acquired by Adobe in 2011.

In 2012, Lin set up his foundation, the Kayser Forum for Sustainability, and UBOT, a startup for robotic underwater exploration. In 2014 he founded Hyperganic, using algorithms and AI to design physical objects for industrial 3D printing.

Lin is an active mentor in the global startup scene. Over the years he has held numerous talks on bold entrepreneurship, disruptive engineering, and sustainability. He inspired many startup entrepreneurs along the way, such as the founders of Isar Aerospace, one of Europe’s orbital launcher startups.

Slightly intimidated by Josefine’s accomplishments in the field of sports, he does his best to keep up when they are out hiking, swimming, and running. It’s been a while since he went kite surfing
